SAVE OUR MUSIC Benefit Concert on 5/2/2008

 

The Concert was Amazing!  Thank you to all of our performers that showed Alameda what music education can produce! It was a once in a lifetime musical lineup to support our elementary schools' music programs.  You can still support the cause by donating today.
 
Featured KCBS RADIO personalities Stan Bunger(MC plus performing), Mike Sugarman, and Al Hart, with Steve Rubenstein of the SF CHRONICLE!  Bobby Sharp, Natasha Miller, Terrence Brewer, Dann Zinn and Chris Planas!  Alameda High Jazz Band, Haiku Ambulance (The Student Body Pres from Encinal High's band), Cougar Cadet Corps, the Chipman Middle School Orchestra, and elementary school students including Nellie Ake from Franklin.

Update:  We raised around $14,000 from the concert and auction combined. 

 

Pasta Pelican with Helene Davis-Onaga: 4/20/2008

Helene is an Earhart Elementary School Parent who has performed in the Bay Area for over 17 years.  She sang the "Standards" with her pianist Cesar Cancino.  Thank you to Pasta Pelican who donated 20% of the bill for the night.  We also had a Save the Music Donation Jar. 
 
Update:  We raised around $1,200 at this event.
 
 

Gary Lapow Children's Concert:  4/20/2008

This was an elementary and pre-school show.  Gary is a former Disney Channel peformer and has been writing and singing for kids, parents, and teachers for more than 25 years. Using wacky humor and the 3R's, Rock, Rap and Reggae, Gary's songs inspire self-esteem, respect for others, and a healthy lifestyle for kids.  Thank you to both Gary and Allan Michaan of Auctions by the Bay who donated their services.
